This video shows a gunfight erupting as police swooped on a rogue soldier carrying out a mass shooting at Terminal 21 shopping centre in Korat, Thailand<br />Chilling sounds of gunfire have filmed outside the mall near where a mass shooter has killed 17 people and allegedly taken hostages in Thailand.<br /><br />In the video, filmed at the scene from a mobile phone, people can be seen fleeing for their lives in chaotic scenes sparked when a rogue soldier – identified in local media as Jakrapanth Thomma – began shooting at innocent civilians at Terminal 21 shopping centre in Korat this afternoon.<br /><br />Numerous shots can be heard being fired and people in the mall's car park dive behind cars for shelter amid the panic.<br /><br />The gunman, who is reported to be aged 32, live-streamed his sickening attack on Facebook, posting shortly before the massacre: “Time to get excited,” according to BBC Thailand.<br />Sickeningly, he later moaned in a video that he was exhausted from killing his victims, telling the camera: "I’m tired now. I can’t move my finger anymore."<br /><br />Thomma is reportedly still at large on the fourth floor of the mall and has taken 16 people hostage.<br /><br />Officials have blocked the surrounding roads and told people to stay away from the area.<br />He is said to have killed 17 people, with the victims including a woman in her sixties, a police officer, and a young male university student, local media reports.<br /><br />Major General Jiraphop Phuridet, commander of the Crime Suppression Division, said that he was leading Hanuman special operations forces to deal with the gunman.<br /><br />There are orders to kill him on sight, local media reports.<br />
