This was the shocking moment a power station exploded into a massive ball of fire.<br /><br />The incident occurred at hydel power generating station at Ambika Nagar near Dandeli in Southern India on February 10. <br /><br />Officials said the explosion, which was caused by a "technical fault" destroyed several transformers and other equipment. <br /><br />“Luckily, several workers and engineers evacuated on time and none was injured,” said an eyewitness.<br /><br />Firefighters rushed to the power station and brought the fire under control.<br /><br />Nearby residents alleged the officials neglected safety measures and had tried to keep the incident under the wraps.<br /><br />Officials said a probe is on to ascertain the cause of the accident.
