More than half of children under age five poisoned by pills ate them after an adult removed the childproof packaging.<br />The deadly medications frequently ingested by children include those used to treat diabetes or cardiac conditions.<br />A new study, published in the Journal of Pediatrics, analyzed the reasons behind 4,496 calls to poison centers.<br />The study found that when adults take meds out of tough-to-open containers they are putting kids at risk.
