A troubling but heroic incident saw villagers carry a sick elderly man in a makeshift stretcher for 10km uphill, to take him to hospital in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. <br /><br />The incident happened on February 13 in the village of Kuna, Sirmaur district. Footage shows men carrying the sick man wrapped in blankets while other locals trailed behind. <br /><br />According to reports, due to a lack of adequate infrastructure and connectivity of roads, they couldn't take him to the hospital on a vehicle. <br /><br />Reports also state that the construction of a 10 km road from Badol village to Kuna was planned in 2015, but thus far only two kilometres have been built.
