A large civet cat was freed from a fence-snare after being captured by villagers in east India. <br /><br />The incident happened at a farm near Urali, Telengapentha in Odisha on February 21, 7:30am.<br /><br />The civet cat was found stuck in the snare by nearby villagers who tried to kill the animal, but luckily nature conservation volunteers stopped them.<br /><br />The animal was stuck for an estimated five hours, and had to be restrained by sealing its head inside a rescue crate, allowing its body to be freed from the snare by the rescue team.<br /><br />Reportedly, the animal will be released in the wild after it recovers its strength and is well hydrated.
