Hubei hospital installs voice-activated elevator to avoid spread of COVID-19

A voice recognition device has been installed in a hospital's elevator in central China's Hubei Province so patients and staff don't have to press the buttons, avoiding the spread of COVID-19.<br /><br />In the video filmed by the voice recognition device's developer, Pan A'suo, at Yichang No.2 People's Hospital on February 23 Pan was heard talking to the elevator.<br /><br />He said: "Hello elevator, please close the doors. Go to the third floor, fifth floor and basement."<br /><br />The elevator then responded to him by selecting the buttons for the corresponding floors for him.<br /><br />Pan and his team spent around half a month to develop the voice recognition device and installed one in Yichang No.2 People's Hopistal. Two more voice recognition devices were sent to Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital.
