Researchers say PFAS - or per- and polyflouroalkyl substances - are called 'forever chemicals' for a reason.<br />And now, they want to call them for what they are: carcinogens.<br />According to UPI, a new study suggests these ubiquitous chemicals increase the risk for cancer.<br />Researchers affiliated with the Environmental Working Group say PFAS alter DNA, compromising the immune system and encouraging cell proliferation.<br />PFAS have been found in drinking water, soil and in food packaging.
