Indian farmer builds his own functioning excavator by using refurbished parts from local shops

A farmer in Madierki, India, has built his own fully functioning excavator from refurbished parts he found at nearby shops.<br /><br />Ashwin Kumar, who has a BSc in agriculture, made a mini digger to help locals cultivate coffee, bananas and vegetables.<br /><br />To power his machine he Kumar uses an eight horsepower engine which as 3,000 rpm. He purchased the engine from a second-hand shop.<br /><br />Kumar says: “Many people asked me whether the digger can be made to make inter cultivation in crops so I came up with an idea of making it small with a high underbelly which could make the digger go anywhere. <br /><br />“The breadth is 2X8 ft and has 8 cage wheels if the top portion i.e the backhoe when removed it can be used as a moto kart and even to make the heaps of coffee and paddy and for small levelling works.<br /><br />“It has two hydraulic motors independently working so the cost may add up by 3000 GBP that means 3 lakhs INR by that u will be having digger Motokart coffee heaping equipment.”<br /><br />This footage was filmed on March 3.
