This is a heart-wrenching moment for a wild tusker who found its friend dead in the forest refused to leave its side in Sri Lanka.<br /><br />The incident took place in December 2018 in Kalawewa National Park.<br /><br />The video shows the wild tusker nudging and nuzzling the body of a dead elephant.<br /><br />The desperate attempt to rouse the dead tusker went on for hours until the elephant finally walked away from the scene. <br /><br />According to the reports, the elephant had died in a fight during the musth.<br /><br />The musth is a periodical change of the behaviour of elephant bulls, which can last from some weeks up to some months. <br /><br />It happens during the mating season of the animals.
