Stunning drone footage showcases Ethiopia's Danakil Depression, the world's hottest place in terms of year-round average temperatures.<br /><br />The footage, filmed in November 2019, reveals the barren landscape of the region which contains unusually colourful natural springs.<br /><br />The Danakil Depression developed as Africa and Asia drifted apart, causing volcanic activity and lava flows.<br /><br />The plain is around 410ft below sea level and goes without rain for most of the year.
