A man climbed a high-voltage transmission tower (66,000 volts) to rescue stranded monkeys in the west Indian state of Gujarat.<br /><br />The incident took place in Netran, Bharuch district on March 13.<br /><br />Distressing footage shows the man climbing to rescue the animals and some monkeys appear to fall from the transmission tower.<br /><br />According to local reports, the power was shut off during the rescue.<br /><br />In total 22 monkeys were stranded and eight monkeys were killed after being electrocuted.<br /><br />Luckily, the remaining animals were rescued and the power was later turned back on.
