The Elmhurst Hospital in Queens has been overrun with seriously ill COVID-19 patients, including 13 who died in a 24-hour span, officials said Wednesday (March 25).<br /><br />A long line of mask-clad people waited for COVID-19 tests, as a police car rattled off guidelines for social distancing outside Elmhurst Hospital.<br /> <br />Doctors, nurses, police and EMTs all wearing protective gear were helping people stay apart and get their tests quickly. <br /><br />Police vehicles use the speakers to periodically remind the crowd to keep a social distance of 6 feet from each other. Ambulances continued to arrive at the location and patients were brought in on stretchers<br /><br />A refrigerated truck has been stationed outside to hold the bodies of the dead.
