Hoda Kotb broke down in tears on the “Today” show on Friday after interviewing Drew Brees about his $5 million donation to Louisiana.

The popular anchor has been flying solo in the 30 Rockefeller studio as her co-anchor Savannah Guthrie is self-isolating and coming live from her home.

And it just appeared too much as mom of two Kotb was overcome after talking to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees about his efforts to help the state amid a staggering spike in coronavirus cases there.

Kotb, 55, has deep roots in Louisiana, having worked there for years earlier in her career as a former anchor at WWL-TV in New Orleans.

At the end of her interview, Kotb told Brees, who made the donation with his wife, Brittany, “I actually think a lot of things are contagious, including generosity. Our hope is that because you let us know you made this big generous donation, other people can look and say, ‘Hey, maybe I can help out too.’ Drew, we love you.”

Brees, 41, replied, “Love you too, Hoda,” at which Kotb’s face crumpled.

As she became emotional, she muttered, “Sorry, sorry,” as Guthrie came on air to console her, saying, “Oh, Hoda … I know it’s a lot. I know where your heart is, my dear.”
