검사는 1분, 소독은 5분...전천후 워킹스루 진료소<br /><br />The use of COVID-19 testing booths is on the rise in South Korea,... providing citizens quick testing,... all without the need for medical personnel to wear the highest-level protective gear.<br />Now officials are saying the latest testing method will be utilized even more in South Korea to ease the burden on exhausted medical staff.<br />Lee Seung-jae reports.<br />This person is getting ready to be tested for COVID-19.<br />Following the instructions of medical staff in the booth,... the person hands over the cotton swab,... and the collection of samples begins.<br />In less than a minute,.. the whole process is complete.<br />The booth provides a safe area for medical staff since no outside air can enter.<br />After disinfecting the gloves,... the testing booth can be used again in a matter of minutes.<br />The testing was devised by Ahn Yeo-hyu,... a medical officer at the Nam-gu Public Health Center in Busan,... who tests for the deadly virus on a daily basis.<br />"If you keep testing while wearing protective gear,... you run the risk of exhaustion or making mistakes so I devised the booth to help out."<br />The booths can be maintained in a positive pressure as well as in a negative pressure state,... meaning they can be used anywhere,... whether it be indoors or outdoors.<br />With demand for testing booth exploding worldwide,... the company that created the testing booths using Ahn's idea is getting ready to export them around the world.<br />The idea evolved from the negative pressure tents that were used during the 2015 MERS outbreak in South Korea.<br />Experts hope the new coronavirus testing booth will be a crucial addition in the fight against COVID-19.<br />Lee Seung-jae, Arirang News.<br />
