Sony Launches $100 Million Global<br />Relief Fund to Combat COVID-19 The company announced <br />its plan on April 2. According to Kenichiro Yoshida,<br />President and CEO of Sony,<br />the global relief fund will focus<br />on providing aid to three groups. Those groups include front-line <br />medical professionals, children and educators <br />and members of the creative community. Kenichiro Yoshida,<br />via statement In terms of medical aid, Sony<br />intends to donate $10 million to the<br />COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund<br />along with other organizations. The company also intends to help support activities<br />that prevent the spread of and contribute<br />to the treatment of COVID-19. Sony plans to “leverage its technologies” <br />to support educational opportunities for <br />children negatively impacted by COVID-19. In terms of the creative community,<br />Sony promised to “seek ways to support”<br />artists that have been impacted by the global<br />shutdown of live events and productions.
