After a marathon operation, forest officials managed to rescue a drowning striped hyena from a large well in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.<br /><br />The incident took place at Shankarwadi, in the Yeola of Nashik district on Thursday (April 2). <br /><br />According to local media, the farm owner spotted the drowning animal and alerted forest officials. <br /><br />Officials from Nashik Forest Department immediately rushed to the scene and dropped a cage inside the well for the hyena to climb into.<br /><br />Luckily, after several attempts, the animal was hauled out of the well and later released into the nearby Nashik Forest.
