Pandemic DIY: How To Remove Your Own Acrylic Nails

2020-04-09 2 Dailymotion

No one in the US is going to the nail salon these days, thanks to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
And according to Allure Magazine, that means many Americans are having to take their manicures into their own hands!
Professional nail technicians shudder at the idea of people removing acrylic nails at home, but these are extraordinary times.
First, open the window for ventilation and assemble your tools. If you don't have them, consider buying a kit online.
You'll need a bowl, foil, cotton balls, an orange stick or metal pusher, nail clippers, a nail file with two grits (100/80), buffer pure acetone, and a nail.
First, cut your acrylics down to about two centimeters above the nail bed for length.
Next, file the remaining polish and acrylic nail away. The more you remove at this stage, the less you'll have to soak off.
Then, soak cotton balls in the acetone, then attach them to your nails with the foil. Or, soak nails in a bowl of acetone for 30 minutes.
Finally, push the acrylic off your nails. Shape, file, buff, and moisturize your nails. Done!
