President Donald Trump was so angry at a CDC official that three weeks were wasted that could have been spent trying to stop the coronavirus pandemic.<br />That's according to The New York Times, which released their report on Saturday.<br />Business Insider reports top officials knew by the end of February that time was running out to stem the spread.<br />CDC officials wanted to present Trump with a plan to enact aggressive social distancing and stay-at-home measures.<br />However, Trump was on a trip to India.<br />Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC, publicly sounded the alarm.<br />In response, the stock market plummeted, which angered Trump for being, in his view, too alarmist.<br />Trump did not issue nationwide social distancing and stay-at-home guidelines until March 16, three weeks after Messonnier's warning.
