Residents were terrified after golf ball-sized hailstones battered their homes during storms in northern Thailand.<br /><br />Weerachai Namsiphan was working when she heard the objects smashing down onto her roof in Nong Bua Lam Phu province.<br /><br />Footage from Sunday night (April 12) shows the area was covered with large hailstones after a sudden summer storm battered homes.<br /><br />Officials reported today that 93 buildings across three districts were damaged but luckily there were no casualties.<br /><br />The provincial chief officer of the department of disaster prevention and mitigation Prasit Chaiyavet said the department acted immediately to help the locals.<br /><br />He said: "After the storm had ceased we sent out our officers to survey the area to evaluate the damage and now are planning measures to help repair properties.''<br /><br />The storms moved south to central Thailand today (April 13) where a tornado was seen in Si Racha in Chonburi province.<br /><br />While in Bangkok, strong wind and heavy rain caused flash floods across the city.<br /><br />Thailand's Meteorological Department said there will be summer thunderstorms in provinces mainly in the northeast part of Thailand from April 12 to 14.
