Most home blood pressure devices sold in Australia, and possibly elsewhere, may not be accurate.<br />A new analysis has revealed that the machines may not have been validated for accuracy.<br />According to UPI, this could lead to misdiagnoses or inappropriate treatment and medication.<br />The analysis shows that just 6% of 972 devices available in Australia underwent testing to verify accurate readings.<br />The models tested include devices sold by e-commerce retailers like Amazon and eBay.<br />More than half the blood pressure monitors on the market were wristband models, and none had been validated.<br />According to the study, just over 18% of arm cuff blood pressure devices had been validated
