Hundreds of struggling residents were queuing for food handouts this morning (April 17) in Bangkok, Thailand, as they deal with the economic problems caused by the Covid-19 coronavirus.<br /><br />The pandemic has lead to widespread closures of businesses, travel restrictions, a night time curfew and a ban on all tourists entering the country. Many locals who survive on day-to-day hand-to-mouth employment have been hit hard by the restrictions and lockdown.<br /><br />Footage shows the long queues in the Don Mueang district where locals were given food parcels, free meals and cash handouts to help them.
