A Catholic diocese in New Mexico is reopening its doors amid the coronavirus pandemic.<br />According to Business Insider, the church will open it's doors to the public for Sunday Mass on April 19.<br />The Roman Catholic church is openly disregarding statewide closures of all non-essential organizations.<br />A spokesperson for the Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces said they believe they are offering an essential service.<br />The church says it will follow mandates, which bans gatherings of more than five people.<br />Each in-person Mass will host only five worshippers at a time.<br />The church has recommended the five that will be in attendance to wear face masks, but they are not requiring it.<br /><br />New Mexico currently has over 1500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and a death toll of 44.
