Heroic disabled woman with no arms sews coronavirus face masks with her feet

A disabled woman born without arms is helping to fight the coronavirus by sewing face masks for health workers using her feet.<br /><br />The kind lady named Norfarrah Syahirah Shaari, 32, was born without arms but it did not stop her from helping the medical staff in her home town in Selangor, Malaysia.<br /><br />Footage from April 11 shows how she nimbly uses just her feet to sew the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) with the sewing machine.<br /><br />The production of masks is part of Teluk Intan Community College's programme to support medical staff.<br /><br />She and 34 of her colleagues are working on the medical equipment needed in hospitals.<br /><br />The talented Norfarrah said she learned how to use a sewing machine because she wanted to make her own clothes.<br /><br />She said: "I have learned how to use the sewing machine around eight years ago as I need customised clothes for my body.<br /><br />"It was hard at first but after a lot of hard work and patience I finally could use it swiftly."<br /><br />She added that it was an honour to dedicate her skills to help the medical staff who are fighting COVID-19.<br /><br />Norfarrah said: "Everyone has their role here and I am in charge of the sewing. It made me proud to be in the programme offering the staff the necessary equipment."
