An Indonesian couple were flogged by officials indoors instead of in front of a crowd due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<br /><br />Large numbers of spectators usually gather to watch the religious punishment but due to COVID-19 lockdown restraints, only a few attended.<br /><br />Filmed in Banda Aceh on April 21, several officials are seen wearing face masks as they watch the pair get caned. However, the victims were seen not wearing face masks.
