S. Korean gov’t to inject emergency liquidity into local aviation industry

'곳간 텅 빈' 항공업계에 긴급 유동성 지원한다<br /><br />The government will inject liquidity into South Korea's aviation industry to help it weather the COVID-19 pandemic.<br />At an emergency meeting Thursday, finance minister Hong Nam-ki said some of the money from the new 69 billion U.S. dollar COVID-19 support packages will go toward helping Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.<br />The government is also reviewing additional measures for low cost carriers, on top of the roughly 250 million dollars it pumped into the sector in February.<br />It will also postpone payments for airport facility fees until August.<br />
