Atlanta Mayor Tells Residents To Stay Home Despite Reopening

According to Business Insider, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp plans to reopen some of the state's businesses on April 27, amid the coronavirus outbreak. <br />But Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms strongly encouraged her constituents to "Stay home. Listen to the scientists."<br />Kemp announced that the state's shelter-in-place order would end on April 27, less than three weeks after it started with a plan to reopen gyms, nail salons, and bowling alleys.<br />Bottoms explained, "There is nothing essential about going to a bowling alley or getting a manicure in the middle of a pandemic." <br />Mayor Bottoms said that Georgia's death rate is going up and that the number of infections are not decreasing. <br />She added, "There are some who are willing to sacrifice lives for the sake of the economy and that is unacceptable to me." <br />Trump initially sided with Kemp's, but later told Kemp that he "strongly" disagreed with the rapid reopening.
