This paddle boarder was left stunned as a large grey whale started to follow him through the waters off Dana Point, California.<br /><br />The marine mammal is seen swimming close to the surface as the paddle boarder attempts to gain a closer look.<br /><br />Filmer Matt Larmand told Newsflare: "A stand-up paddle boarder got a nice surprise when this juvenile grey whale surfaced next to him. he followed the grey whale for about 1/4 mile. The whale can be seen swimming under the paddle boarder and surfacing right next to him, very close to shore."<br /><br />This encounter was filmed on April 26.
