An adopted pug named Alan from Austin, Texas strides confidently around his home despite having no eyes.

In footage captured on April 26, Alan struts his stuff while being enticed by his owners.

Alan lost his eyes in an attack from another dog before he was adopted into a new family.

His Mark Shockley and Beth Legacki said online: "He lost his eyes in a dog attack prior to us adopting him.

"Despite not being able to see, he moves with courage and confidence. A true inspiration."

They later told Newsflare: "He is about nine, and we got him when he was six, shortly after his eyes were removed.

"He was a rescue that Pug Rescue Austin cared for and fixed up.

"When we first got him it took him a few days to adjust, but he quickly learned the layout and his surroundings.

"He rarely hesitates when getting around, and literally will take leaps of faith after he's done laying on the couch, where he enjoys some of his time.

"We have other dogs and he works well with the pack, when playing, he will chase the other dogs.

"My thought is often 'how are you running? How are you able to fell so unrestrained?'"

"He is a brave dog and lives a normal life, he is not held back by his lack of eyes and inspires me to think about how the obstacles I might face on a day to day basis are only perceptions, and I try to be more like him."
