The US passed a milestone on Tuesday of one million confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.<br />When asked about it in a press briefing, President Donald Trump was quick to blame public health experts.<br />According to Business Insider, Trump claimed there were "very good experts" who predicted the novel coronavirus "would never affect the United States."<br />However, dozens of public health officials warned Trump and his administration early on of a US outbreak that would severely disrupt daily life.<br />Intelligence officials and Obama administration aides also repeatedly sounded the alarm about an impending pandemic.<br />Nevertheless, Trump took no action until weeks after the virus gained a foothold in the US.
