Google Meet Is
Now Free for Everyone Google’s videoconferencing service
was previously limited to enterprise
and education customers via G Suite. Now, anyone with a Google account will
be able to create free meetings with
up to 100 people and no time restrictions. Users must be logged in to access meetings.
This is to avoid privacy and safety issues such as
Zoombombing, when an uninvited person joins a meeting. To further ensure privacy, those not
directly invited by email will be placed
in a green room where they must
wait for host approval. Free access to Meet is set to
last through September 30.
