Wildlife officials rescued a leopard after it got caught in a trap mounted on a tree inside a tea estate in Sri Lanka's Central Province.<br /><br />The incident took place on April 24 at the Darawala Tea Estate in Dickoya town of Nuwara Eliya district.<br /><br />Footage shows officials loading a tranquilliser gun and firing a dart at the leopard. Seeing the officials from a distance, the leopard growled and tried to raise its body, but failed.<br /><br />Officials then placed a net over the animal, used a cutter to snip the wire, and placed the animal inside a metal cage.<br /><br />The leopard was rushed to a veterinary hospital for treatment and late released. <br /><br />According to local reports, the trap that was set up for wild boars.
