New York City Ends 24-Hour Subway <br />Service to Disinfect Trains and Buses Governor Andrew Cuomo announced <br />the decision on Thursday as the city <br />attempts to further flatten the curve. Governor Andrew Cuomo, via news briefing Cuomo noted that the 4-hour period has the <br />lowest ridership, though overall ridership has <br />dropped 92% since the city was put on pause. Prior to the decision, subway cars <br />were cleaned every 72 hours. The MTA will continue to provide buses <br />and compliant “dollar vans” to essential <br />workers during those hours.
