The Congressional Deaf Caucus has sent a letter to the White House urging inclusion.<br />The letter requests an American sign language interpreter be present at all televised public health briefings.<br />According to Business Insider, the request was sent by Reps. Takano and John Rutherford, to Mike Pence.<br />The Caucus is made up of 28 members of Congress, including 2 Republicans and 26 Democrats.<br />Governors and local officials in all 50 states have had sign language interpreters at their briefings.<br />Interpreters are vital so that deaf and hard of hearing individuals have equal access to COVID-19 information.<br />The request was also signed by six additional members of the Caucus.
