COVID-19 Pandemic Pushes Down ICE Arrests

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an influence on US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.<br />According to Business Insider, ICE made less than half the arrests in April than it did in March in Los Angeles.<br />Roughly 230 people were arrested in the LA area in March, compared to 80 who were arrested in April.<br />In March, the agency announced it would shift its efforts to enforcement against individuals who posed "public safety risks."<br />ICE continues to face criticism from advocates. They say the agency isn't doing enough to protect detainees from the novel coronavirus.
