California Governor Gavin Newsom said on Monday that some retail businesses are going to open.<br />California as a whole says they may begin reopening as early as this week.<br />The decisions hinge on whether data shows that the coronavirus pandemic is not worsening.<br />This also must coincide with testing continuing to ramp up, reports Reuters.<br />The governor said offices and shopping malls will remain closed, along with seating in restaurants.<br />California has recorded at least 2,215 deaths from COVID-19 and nearly 55,000 known cases.
