01_Homemade Easy Vanilla Sponge Cake Recipe_Baking Recipe by Cooking with Asifa<br />This Home-made Simple Yellow Vanilla Sponge Cake is the base of baking.<br />It has a soft spongy & regular crumb that absorbs the moisture from the milk n cream a lot well. <br />You can eat this delicious simple cake just as it is or roll it with cream served with tea making it a delightful for tea-time or you can pack it for kids for lunches.<br /><br />Ingredients:<br />- Oil 1 cup<br />- Plain flour(Maida) 2 cup<br />- Baking powder 1 Tbsp<br />- Eggs 5 <br />- Salt 1/2 pinch <br />- Sugar 1 cups<br />- Vanilla powder 1/2 Tsp<br />- Milk 1/2 cup<br /><br />Recipe:<br /><br />- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) with the rack in the middle. Take a large rectangular cake pan (at least 2 inches tall), brush oil on the inside of the pan, then dust it with flour, knocking out the excess to make the surface non-stick.<br />- In a medium bowl, sift the Maida (All-purpose Flour) and baking powder and set aside.<br />- In another bowl beat the oil, vanilla powder and sugar on medium speed for 5 minutes.<br />- Increase the speed to medium, and continue adding eggs to beat with it for 15 minutes or more till a smooth batter is formed.<br />- Gradually add flour, salt, milk & batter with the spoon, so no lump is formed.<br />- Pour the batter into cake pan & Bake the cake for about 20 minutes or few more, on the middle rack of preheated to the 350°F oven.<br />- Check the cake with a toothpick/skewer inserted in the center should come out clean without crumbs on it, the cake is ready.<br />- Allow the cake to sit undisturbed for 5 mins.
