China test-rides world's highest and fastest swing - set 2,300ft over a cliff

The swing claims to be the fastest of its kind at 80 mph and sends riders hanging mid-air 70 metres away from the side of a cliff overlooking a giant canyon in Chongqing<br />A fearless worker was caught on camera shrieking for help while test-riding the world's highest swing - that hangs over a cliffside.<br />The jaw-dropping new ride was part of the new attractions inside Longgang National Geopark in Yunyang of the municipality of Chongqing in south-western China.<br />Dubbed as Asia's first cliffside swing, the single-seater ride is suspended by a rainbow-coloured arch and travel at a speed up to 80mph.<br /><br />The swing fires out fearless riders 70 metres away from the 2,300-foot cliff that overlooks a giant canyon.<br /><br />Incredible video posted by a colleague on DouYin, China's equivalent to TikTok, a worker is heard screaming out loud when he is strapped onto the ride and sent flying mid-air.<br />The ride hangs at a height of 88 metres off the ground with a maximum angle of 90 degrees as it swings.<br /><br />It reveals an impressive 3D-painted floor with an illusion of waterfall.<br /><br />The cameraman can be heard giggling while filming his colleague's test ride.<br /><br />According to local media, the park is currently in its testing period and is not ready to open to public yet.<br />The swing is said to be able to withhold thunderstorm, a magnitude 10 earthquake and hurricane-force winds at Beaufort scale of 12, reported the Cover News.<br /><br />The new ride has set a new record of cliffside swings in China, beating the two swings in Ordovician theme park, which were at heights of 18m and 21m respectively.<br />Viewers were thrilled and said they could feel the rider trembling as they watched the clip.<br /><br /><br /><br />
