U.S. Drops Criminal Case<br />Against Michael Flynn On May 7, the United States Justice Department announced<br />their decision to drop the criminal case against Michael Flynn, former national security advisor to Donald Trump. Flynn was accused of and initially pled guilty<br />to lying about his conversation with the Russian<br />ambassador to the FBI in a 2017 interview. His was one of the first Trump aides to plead guilty and <br />cooperate with Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia's <br />interference in the 2016 presidential election. However, in recent months Flynn had been attempting to<br />withdraw his plea and challenge the prosecution’s case. According to court documents, the Justice Department has<br />now decided that Flynn’s initial conversation with the<br />Russian ambassador was “entirely appropriate.” This makes his 2017 interview<br />with the FBI inadmissible.
