야구•축구 이어 이번엔 여자골프...오늘 시즌 개막<br /><br />First baseball,... then football.<br />Now,... the women's golf season will tee off in South Korea... becoming the first golf tournament since the COVID-19 pandemic.<br />Lee Seung-jae takes a look at the star studded line up that will be gracing the fairways at the 2020 KLPGA Championship.<br />The South Korean women's golf season gets going Thursday,... with the 42nd KLPGA Championship in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do Province.<br />It features 150 players and 2-point-4 million U.S. dollars in prize money is up for grabs.<br />The tournament also features some of the biggest names in women's golf.<br />"We weren't sure if we'd be able to play. I thank the organizers for putting this event together in such challenging times."<br />"As an athlete, I'm pleased and proud that South Korea is leading the way for the resumption of sports."<br />The golfers will be provided with space to practice independently,... relax and dine.<br />Special disinfection facilities will also be available to them.<br />The tournament will be held without any spectators,... to prevent the spread of the virus.<br />All media and journalists will have to practice social distancing protocols throughout the event.<br />With the KLPGA Championship the first and only pro golf tournament so far in 2020,... more than 80 foreign journalists are expected at the event.<br />Lee Seung-jae, Arirang News.<br />
