A tropical downpour caused flash floods on roads in Pattaya, eastern Thailand, today (May 14).<br /><br />Motorists and pedestrians had to battle through the deluge which left some parts submerged in knee-deep water. The downpours caused heavy traffic and gridlock around the city.<br /><br />Tropical storms have been sweeping Thailand for the last few weeks as the country enters its scorching summer season with temperatures reaching 42C.<br /><br />The strong winds and heavy rain, which are forecast to continue throughout May, causes havoc with the country's ageing infrastructure.
