Covid-19 pandemic spurs Malaysia’s home-based education

In his Teacher’s Day address on Saturday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Malaysian schools have been forced to close to prevent the spread of the virus.<br /><br />He said during the nationwide movement control order, schools have been encouraged to introduce home-based learning for students to continue to pursue education.<br /><br />He said when reopened, schools would have to adhere to standard operating procedures such as social distancing, monitoring the arrival and movement of students and practising cleanliness.<br /><br />He also announced Nor Hainei Abu Bakar and Aminudin Adam as the winners of this year's National Teacher Award and National Educational Leader Award.<br /><br />Read more at https://bit.ly/36bCrMw<br /><br />WATCH MORE: https://thestartv.com/c/news<br />SUBSCRIBE: https://cutt.ly/TheStar<br />LIKE: https://fb.com/TheStarOnline
