A monument to Spain's coronavirus victims has opened in the centre of Madrid.<br /><br />The small black cauldron from the centre of which burns an "eternal" flame stands outside the Palacio de Cibeles on Calle Alcalá. <br /><br />An inscription reads in Spanish: "Your flame will never go out in our hearts."<br /><br />As of May 17th at 7:55 am GMT, Spain had registered 27,563 deaths, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
