전세계 470만명 이상 코로나 감염... 스페인, 6월말까지 비상사태 연장<br /><br />Nearly 5 million COVID-19 cases have been reported around the world, and more than 310-thousand people have died from the disease.<br />Cases are surging in the U.S., Brazil, India and Peru.<br />In Europe, the pandemic seems to have peaked, and restrictions are being relaxed.<br />Oh Jung-hee reports.<br />Some 4-point-7 million people around the world have now been confirmed infected with the novel coronavirus,... and more than 312-thousand have died.<br />On Sunday, the U.S. reported more than 25-thousand new cases and more than 15-hundred deaths, raising its death toll to more than 88-thousand.<br />Confirmed cases surged in Brazil by almost 15-thousand in Russia by over 9-thousand and in Peru by over 4-thousand.<br />India saw its biggest single-day surge on Sunday with almost 5-thousand cases.<br />The country's confirmed cases jumped from 80-thousand to 90-thousand in just two days.<br />Brazil's confirmed cases have risen past those of Spain and Italy, making Brazil's outbreak the fourth largest in the world.<br />Italy on Saturday reported 153 deaths, the lowest in the past two months.<br />Nepal has reported its first COVID-19 death.<br />But it's believed that Nepal likely has more... because it hasn't conducted enough tests and has not clarified the causes of other deaths in which there were similar symptoms.<br />In Europe, Spain continues to see thousands of new cases a day, and is moving to extend its coronavirus state of emergency until late June.<br />Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said... the end of June would be when the hardest-hit countries can start returning to normal, and this would be the last state of emergency a month-long one.<br />But some other European countries are moving to relax their lockdowns.<br />On Saturday, Germany and Luxembourg reopened their border, which has been closed for the past two months.<br />People and vehicles can move across freely without inspection or having to explain reasons for travel.<br />Germany has also simplified its immigration control with Austria and Switzerland.<br />Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.<br />
