Meenakshi Gurukkal receives Padma Shri for her services towards Kalaripayattu

Meenakshi Gurukkal received the Padma Shri award in 2017 due to her services towards martial art Kalaripayattu. Even at the age of 75, she runs a school in Kerala where she teaches the martial art to youngsters.
