A generous resident has set up a community pantry for pet cats in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand.

Sirinan Iwazaki, 51, put the table full of food outside her house for distributing for free to neighbourhood moggies.

The cat lover Sirinan said the idea was inspired by the normal community pantry but she realised that pets are effected by the coronavirus pandemic as well.

She said: "I really liked the idea of the community pantries for people who are struggling, then it came to that people's pets could also be having problems.

"So I set up a stall here for me to give out pet food, then other people started donating, too.

"The table is available daily from afternoon until evening and the left over of the food will be used to feed the stray dogs and cats in town."
