This is the heart-stopping moment a motorcycle rider was almost killed after stopping being two oncoming pickup trucks.

The young woman pulled out from far side on an 11 lane highway to reach the central u-turn point in Trat, eastern Thailand, on May 10.

However, she was forced to stop when a truck loaded with fruit came hurtling along the road and swerved to avoid hitting her.

Then at the same time a second pickup truck was approaching in the lane behind and had to brake sharply to avoid a head-on collision.

Dashcam footage from a passing driver shows how close the two vehicles were to hitting the rider. She came within a hair's breadth of being kicked over and killed - then moved to the central reservation and calmly carried on her journey.

The motorist, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that the stretch of road is an accident black spot.

He said: ''There have been many crashes when motorcyclists try to cross from the row of shops to make a u-turn. They have to ride diagonally into the flow of traffic so it's very dangerous. She was very, very lucky.''

Traffic police in the city had previously closed the dangerous u-turn point due to the high number of accidents.

However, they had to open it again after residents complained that it would take too long to use a different u-turn around 300 yards further along the road.
