Study Reveals Why Advanced Prostate Cancer Is Rising In Men Over 50

A new study has found that prostate cancer rates are on the rise in men over 50, while rates of early stage prostate cancer have declined.<br />In 2012, the US Preventive Services Task Force advised against prostate screenings for all, because the risks of the test outweighed the benefits.<br />By 2017, cases of advanced prostate cancer increased in men 50 and older, while cases of early stage disease declined.<br />Lead study author Ahmedin Jemal says the increase in advanced stages of prostate cancer likely occurred because of the lack of screenings.<br />Every year in America there are approximately 192,000 cases of prostate cancer.<br />Prostate cancer is a common types of cancer, and often prostate cancer grows slowly.
