A coronavirus vaccine developed by CanSino Biologics Inc appears to be safe.<br />It induced a rapid immune response in its first human trial, Reuters reports.<br />This vaccine did not cause any serious adverse effects, though side effects such as fever were noted.<br />Blood samples from the 108 vaccinated adults showed "neutralizing antibodies" and T-cell responses.<br />However, the ability to trigger these immune responses does not necessarily indicate that the vaccine works.<br />Scientists are still a long way from this vaccine being available to people around the world.<br />The first such trial to confirm whether the vaccine protects against infection is underway in Wuhan.
