미 국무부 "남북협력, 비핵화와 발 맞춰야"<br /><br />The U.S. says supports inter-Korean cooperation, but joint projects must proceed in "lockstep" with progress on denuclearization.<br />It's a phrase commonly-trotted out by the U.S.,... but its first response against Seoul's former top aide.<br />During an interview with a local magazine, Im Jong-seok said Washington's point man on North Korea, Stephen Biegun "put pressure" on Seoul just before the landmark inter-Korean summit in 2018.<br />Im also added South Korea was told to hold until Biegun "figured out his job and gave the okay."<br />Previously Washington has expressed that it supports joint inter-Korean projects and said is in coordination with Seoul.<br />Im was imprisoned in early 1990 for masterminding an unauthorized visit to North Korea by a member of the National Council of Student Representative, in violation of South Korea's national security law.<br />
