Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has thought deeply about how the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic will impact the fashion industry.<br />According to Business Insider, Wintour said in a CNBC interview that the entire industry is rethinking what fashion stands for.<br />This includes focusing less on newness and speed in fashion, which could be a death knell for fast-fashion retailers.<br />Coming out of the pandemic, experts say there could be substantial shifts in how consumers shop and an end to 'extreme consumerism.'<br />Prior to the pandemic, there had already been a shift toward shopping more mindfully and deliberately.<br />Consumers, especially younger ones, were demanding sustainability in fashion. Experts say the pandemic is only going to amplify the call.
